KS Shanti (pronounced keɪ-ɛ ˈʃænti; July 12) is a freelance copywriter, creative director, and former Alaskan crab fisherman. Widely regarded as one of the industry’s top creatives, KS is perhaps best known for pioneering "Method ading" techniques, which were prominently used in the production of his award-winning Mountain Dew Bob Ross campaign. Following the success of the campaign, KS had to hire a speech therapist to help him relearn his native accent.
Born overseas, KS’ family moved to Los Angeles when he was 3-years-old. Just two years later, KS received his first Cannes Lion Shortlist at the age of six.

Shanti now resides in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a prominent figure in the neighborhood’s McGolrick Bird Club. He is currently reading A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle for the fifth time and Making Movies by Sydney Lumet. ****
In late 2019, KS pitched a string of activation ideas that debunked flat earth theories to an unnamed ECD who fired him on the spot. Hours later, Shanti was subsequently reinstated, with the agency parting ways with the ECD who now works in pharma. KS went on to say the whole experience “taught me to stand up for my personal beliefs, no matter what.”
